Shanghai-based artist Kzeng Jiang is the first Chinese artist to create his own version of the iconic guest as part of Lladró's renowned "The Guest" collection . Originally developed by Jaime Hayon , the concept invites international artists to contribute their cultural signature to the signature figurine design.

Kzeng Jiang's interpretation combines elements of traditional Chinese art —such as the face painting of Peking Opera or floral patterns from the Song Dynasty—with a contemporary design approach . According to Jiang, the striking three eyes on the guest's face symbolize the ability to see past, present, and future—making the figure a silent witness and messenger of time.

The interplay of cool blue on white porcelain and shiny gold details recalls the prestige and sophistication of ancient Chinese porcelain art – and transforms the sculpture into an expressive, modern design object.
